Construction Law in Turkey
ALCAN Law Firm; has become known for its involvement in a variety of large international construction projects, most often acting on behalf of the foreign corporations funding the projects.
ALCAN provides counsel and experienced representation during all phases of project development, construction, and dispute resolution. We routinely draft and negotiate design services and construction documents for both private and public projects. We also have proven experience in claims analysis, negotiation and litigation. ALCAN represents property owners and developers as well as contractors, architects and engineers. Representative projects are located all over the world.
The combined experience of our construction law attorneys totals over 30 years of construction law expertise. It is a product of our especially large and diverse client base, extensive projects, involvement in professional associations and national stature in the legal profession.
Our construction law attorneys have drafted and negotiated hundreds of contracts on behalf of private owners, public entities, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors and construction managers. Our extensive experience allows us to protect our clients interests in a timely and cost effective manner. By providing up-front, pro-active counseling at the contract phase, we help our clients avoid future costly disputes.
We work closely with our clients attorneys, staff, engineers and architects. When necessary, we locate, interview and retain consulting engineers for technical advice on claims negotiation and litigation. We usually establish a team approach for factual analysis and assistance in resolving claims.
We are not interested in perpetuating construction claims and litigation. Our clients' best interests, however, always remain our primary focus and we litigate claims to judgment when necessary. Our approach is to solve problems as soon as is practical, by negotiation if feasible, thereby saving the client money and frustration. To that end, we prefer to have extensive involvement with our clients' staff, engineers, architects and attorneys when formulating recommendations and developing a negotiation/litigation strategy. After making recommendations, we are amenable to the client's directions either to take the lead role in negotiations or litigation, or to serve in a supportive capacity.
We also have attorneys specializing exclusively in public sector contracting, offering clients a comprehensive perspective when providing assistance on matters involving government contracts and procurement policy. The firm is able to evaluate and suggest a number of traditional and alternative remedies to the needs of clients doing business directly or indirectly with the government on construction projects involving such matters as bid protests, contract negotiation, contract management, including change orders, contract claims and government audits.
